In every prayer there is recitation. Whatever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited aloud for us, we recite aloud for you, and whatever he kept silent, we keep silent from you.
Bukhari transmitted it, in Adhan, chapter on recitation in Fajr, hadith no. 772, and Muslim, in Prayer, chapter on the obligation of reciting Fatihah in every rakat, etc., hadith no. 43/396, from the hadith of Ibn Jurayj with this chain, and it is in Kubra, hadith no. 1042. Musnad Abu Awana, 2/125, adds, I heard him say, "There is no prayer without Fatihat al-Kitab."
