Ubayy bin Kaab reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah has not revealed in the Torah or the Gospel anything like the Mother of the Quran. It is the Seven Oft-Repeated Verses, and it is divided between Me and My servant, and My servant shall have what he asks for."
Its isnad is hasan. Tirmidhi transmitted it in the tafsir of the Quran, chapter on Surah Hijr, no. 3125, from Husayn bin Hurayth, with this wording. It is also found in al-Kubra, no. 986. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, no. 501, as did Ibn Hibban, no. 1714, and Hakim, 1/557, saying it meets the standard of Muslim, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
