The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever performs ablution should expel water from his nose, and whoever cleans himself with stones should use an odd number."
أخبرنا قتيبة عن مالك ح و حدثنا إسحق بن منصور قال حدثنا عبد الرحمن عن مالك عن ابن شهاب عن أبي إدريس الخولاني
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال من توضأ فليستنثر ومن استجمر فليوتر
[Agreed upon] Bukhari narrated it in his Sahih, Book of Wudu, Chapter on blowing the nose during wudu, number (161) and (237), from the hadith of Malik.Muslim narrated it in his Sahih, Book of Purification, Chapter on doing it in odd numbers when blowing the nose and using stones for cleansing, the hadith of Ibn Shihab, with the same wording.It is also in the Muwatta (1/19) by the narration of Yahya.It is also in Sunan al-Kubra by Nasai, number (90).
