I spent the night at the home of my aunt Maymunah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ got up to pray during the night, and I stood on his left side. He gestured to me like this, taking hold of my head and placing me on his right side.
Bukhari transmitted it in the Book of Adhan, chapter titled "When the Imam Did Not Intend to Lead the Prayer, Then People Came and He Led Them," hadith no. 699, from the hadith of Ismail bin Ulaya, through the same chain, and it is also found in Al-Kubra, hadith no. 880.
