Some men used to pray with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with their lower garments tied around their necks like children, due to the shortness of the cloth. So the women were told, "Do not raise your heads until the men are sitting upright."
أخبرنا عبيد الله بن سعيد قال حدثنا يحيى عن سفيان قال حدثني أبو حازم
كان رجال يصلون مع رسول الله ﷺ عاقدين أزرهم كهيئة الصبيان فقيل للنساء لا ترفعن رءوسكن حتى يستوي الرجال جلوسا
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Prayer, chapter, "If the garment is narrow," hadith no. 362, from the hadith of Yahya Qattan, and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Prayer, chapter on instructing the women praying behind the men not to raise their heads (until the end), hadith no. 441, from the hadith of Sufyan Thawri, through the same chain, and it is also in Kubra, hadith no. 842.
