The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray during the night while I was lying asleep across his bed between him and the qiblah. When he wanted to perform witr, he would wake me, and I would pray witr.
أخبرنا عبيد الله بن سعيد قال حدثنا يحيى عن هشام قال حدثنا أبي
كان رسول الله ﷺ يصلي من الليل وأنا راقدة معترضة بينه وبين القبلة على فراشه فإذا أراد أن يوتر أيقظني فأوترت
Bukhari transmitted it in the Book of Prayer, Chapter on Praying Behind a Sleeping Person, no. 512, from the hadith of Yahya Qattan. Muslim transmitted it in the Book of Prayer, Chapter on Crossing in Front of the One Praying, no. 268/512, from the hadith of Hisham bin Urwa, with a similar meaning. It is also found in al-Kubra, no. 835.
