I came to the Prophet ﷺ, and Bilal came out and gave the call to prayer. As he made the call, he turned this way and that, to the right and to the left.
أخبرنا محمود بن غيلان قال حدثنا وكيع قال حدثنا سفيان
أتيت النبي ﷺ فخرج بلال فأذن فجعل يقول في أذانه هكذا ينحرف يمينا وشمالا
Bukhari transmitted it in the chapter on adhan, in the section "Does the caller turn his face here and there while calling the adhan?" and so on, hadith no. 503 and hadith no. 634, from the hadith of Sufyan Thawri, with this chain, and Muslim transmitted it in the chapter on prayer, in the section on the barrier of the one praying, from the hadith of Waki, with this chain. It is also found in Al-Kubra, hadith no. 1607.
