A man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the time of the dawn prayer. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ instructed Bilal to call the adhan when dawn broke, and he did so. The following day, he delayed the dawn prayer until the light had spread, then he ordered Bilal to call the iqamah, and he prayed. Then he said, "This is the time for the prayer."
أخبرنا إسحق بن إبراهيم قال حدثنا يزيد قال حدثنا حميد
أن سائلا سأل رسول الله ﷺ عن وقت الصبح فأمر رسول الله ﷺ بلالا فأذن حين طلع الفجر فلما كان من الغد أخر الفجر حتى أسفر ثم أمره فأقام فصلى ثم قال هذا وقت الصلاة
