When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his companions slept past the time of prayer until the sun had risen, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Let each of you pray it the next day at its proper time."
أخبرنا عمرو بن علي قال حدثنا أبو داود قال حدثنا شعبة عن ثابت البناني عن عبد الله بن رباح
أن رسول الله ﷺ لما ناموا عن الصلاة حتى طلعت الشمس قال رسول الله ﷺ فليصلها أحدكم من الغد لوقتها
[Its chain is sahih] Ahmad: 5/309 narrated it from Abu Dawud Tayalisi through this same route, and it is in Kubra, hadith: 1584. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, hadith: 990. See also the two preceding hadiths.
