Abdullah bin Umar reported,

I saw a man come to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with a cup containing date wine while he was beside the corner of the Kaaba, and he handed him the cup. He raised it to his mouth but found it strong, so he returned it to its owner.A man among the people asked, "Messenger of Allah, is it forbidden?"He said, "Bring the man to me."The man was brought, and he took the cup from him, then called for water and poured it in. He raised it to his mouth and frowned, then called for more water and poured that in as well. Then he said, "When these vessels turn potent on you, break their strength with water."Abu Abdul-Rahman said, Abdul-Malik bin Nafi is not well known, and his hadith is not used as proof. What is well known from Ibn Umar contradicts his account.
