He was asked, "Give us your ruling on badhiq."He replied, "Muhammad came before badhiq, and whatever intoxicates is forbidden."
أخبرنا قتيبة قال حدثنا أبو عوانة عن أبي الجويرية قال
وسئل فقيل له أفتنا في الباذق فقال سبق محمد الباذق وما أسكر فهو حرام
Bukhari reported it in the Book of Drinks, Chapter on Badhiq and Whoever Forbade Every Intoxicant Among Drinks, etc., hadith 5598, from the hadith of Abul Juwayriyah with the same chain, and it is in Kubra, hadith 116.
