The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit, from a heart that does not feel humility, from a soul that is never satisfied, and from a supplication that is not heard."Abu Abdul-Rahman said, "Saeed did not hear this directly from Abu Hurairah, rather he heard it from his brother, who narrated it from Abu Hurairah."
أخبرنا محمد بن آدم عن أبي خالد عن محمد بن عجلان عن سعيد
قال رسول الله ﷺ اللهم إني أعوذ بك من علم لا ينفع ومن قلب لا يخشع ومن نفس لا تشبع ومن دعاء لا يسمع قال أبو عبد الرحمن سعيد لم يسمعه من أبي هريرة بل سمعه من أخيه عن أبي هريرة
[Sahih] It was reported by Ibn Majah in the Introduction, in the chapter on benefiting from knowledge and acting upon it, hadith no. 250, from the hadith of Abu Khalid Ahmar with the same wording, and it has a hasan corroborating narration, see the following hadith.
