One night I reached out for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in my bed but did not find him. I slid my hand along the head of the bed, and it fell upon the soles of his feet. He was prostrating, saying, "I seek refuge in Your pardon from Your punishment, and I seek refuge in Your pleasure from Your wrath, and I seek refuge in You from You."
أخبرنا إبراهيم بن يعقوب قال حدثني العلاء بن هلال قال حدثنا عبيد الله عن زيد عن عمرو بن مرة عن القاسم بن عبد الرحمن عن مسروق بن الأجدع
طلبت رسول الله ﷺ ذات ليلة في فراشي فلم أصبه فضربت بيدي على رأس الفراش فوقعت يدي على أخمص قدميه فإذا هو ساجد يقول أعوذ بعفوك من عقابك وأعوذ برضاك من سخطك وأعوذ بك منك
