The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever asks Allah for Paradise three times, Paradise says, 'O Allah, admit him into Paradise.' And whoever seeks refuge from the Fire three times, the Fire says, 'O Allah, protect him from the Fire.'"
أخبرنا قتيبة قال حدثنا أبو الأحوص عن أبي إسحق عن بريد بن أبي مريم
قال رسول الله ﷺ من سأل الله الجنة ثلاث مرات قالت الجنة اللهم أدخله الجنة ومن استجار من النار ثلاث مرات قالت النار اللهم أجره من النار
Sahih. Tirmidhi reported it in the Description of Paradise, chapter on what has been said about the description of the rivers of Paradise, no. 2572, from the hadith of Abu Ahwas, and it is in Sunan al-Kubra, no. 7962. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 2433, as did Hakim, 1/535, and Dhahabi agreed with him. It has corroborating narrations in Ibn Hibban (Ihsan, 1/178, no. 1010) and elsewhere.
