The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Ibn Abis, shall I guide you," or he said, "shall I tell you about the best protection sought by those who seek refuge?"He replied, "Yes, Messenger of Allah."He said, "Recite, 'Say, I seek refuge with the Lord of the daybreak,' and 'Say, I seek refuge with the Lord of mankind.' These two surahs."
أخبرنا محمود بن خالد قال حدثنا الوليد قال حدثنا أبو عمرو عن يحيى عن محمد بن إبراهيم بن الحارث أخبرني أبو عبد الله أن
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال له يا ابن عابس ألا أدلك أو قال ألا أخبرك بأفضل ما يتعوذ به المتعوذون قال بلى يا رسول الله قال قل أعوذ برب الفلق و قل أعوذ برب الناس هاتين السورتين
[hasan] Ahmad reported it in 4/153 through the narration of Yahya bin Abu Kathir with this chain, and it is in Kubra, no. 7841. The hadith has corroborating narrations.Abu Amr is Uzai, and Abu Abdullah was graded trustworthy by Ibn Hibban, though Dhahabi did not know him.
