Jabir bin Abdullah reported,

A man from the Ansar freed a slave of his by tadbir, meaning the slave would become free upon his master's death. The man was in need and burdened with debt, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sold the slave for eight hundred dirhams, then handed him the money and said, "Pay off your debt and provide for your family."
