The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "You bring your disputes to me, and I am only a human being. Perhaps some of you are more eloquent in presenting your case than others. So whoever I rule in his favor by granting him something that belongs to his brother, let him not take it, for I am only cutting off for him a piece of the Fire."
أخبرنا عمرو بن علي قال حدثنا يحيى قال حدثنا هشام بن عروة قال حدثني أبي عن زينب بنت أبي سلمة
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال إنكم تختصمون إلي وإنما أنا بشر ولعل بعضكم ألحن بحجته من بعض فمن قضيت له من حق أخيه شيئا فلا يأخذه فإنما أقطعه به قطعة من النار
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Testimonies, Chapter on Whoever Produces Evidence After the Oath, hadith no. 2680, and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Judgments, Chapter Explaining that a Judge's Ruling Does Not Change the Reality, hadith no. 1713, from the hadith of Hisham, through him. It is also found in Kubra, hadith no. 5956.Yahya is Qattan.
