The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Were it not that I would burden my community, I would have ordered them to delay the night prayer at every time it is to be performed."
أخبرنا محمد بن منصور قال حدثنا سفيان قال حدثنا أبو الزناد عن الأعرج
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال لولا أن أشق على أمتي لأمرتهم بتأخير العشاء عند كل صلاة
Muslim included it in the Book of Purification, Chapter on the Tooth-stick, hadith no. 252, through the report of Sufyan bin Uyayna, with the same chain.
