The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Among the best of your kohls is ithmid. It clears the vision and makes the lashes grow."Abu Abdul-Rahman noted that Abdullah bin Uthman bin Khuthaym is weak in hadith.
أخبرنا قتيبة قال حدثنا داود وهو ابن عبد الرحمن العطار عن عبد الله بن عثمان بن خثيم عن سعيد بن جبير
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال إن من خير أكحالكم الإثمد إنه يجلو البصر وينبت الشعر أبو عبد الرحمن عبد الله بن عثمان بن خثيم لين الحديث
[Its chain of transmission is hasan] Abu Dawud transmitted it in the Book of Clothing, chapter on white garments, hadith 4061, and Ibn Majah, hadith 3497, from the hadith of Ibn Khuthaym, and he is of hasan reliability according to the more correct view. The hadith is also found in al-Kubra, hadith 9404.
