He raised it to the Prophet ﷺ, who said, "There will be a people in the latter days who dye their hair with this black dye, resembling the crops of pigeons. They will not catch the fragrance of Paradise."
أخبرنا عبد الرحمن بن عبيد الله الحلبي عن عبيد الله وهو ابن عمرو عن عبد الكريم عن سعيد بن جبير
رفعه أنه قال قوم يخضبون بهذا السواد آخر الزمان كحواصل الحمام لا يريحون رائحة الجنة
[Its isnad is sahih] Abu Dawud narrated it in the book on grooming, in the chapter on what has been said about black hair dye, hadith 4212, from the hadith of Ubaydullah bin Amr Raqqi through this route, and it is also in the Kubra, hadith 9346. Munziri graded it hasan, and Ibn Hibban, Hakim, and others graded it sahih.Abdul-Kareem is Jazari, as stated in Sunan Abu Dawud, so said Baghawi and others.
