The Prophet ﷺ said, "There are four traits whoever possesses them all is a hypocrite, and whoever possesses one of them possesses a trait of hypocrisy until he abandons it. When he speaks, he lies. When he promises, he breaks his promise. When he makes a covenant, he betrays it. And when he disputes, he behaves wickedly."
Bukhari reported it in "Wrongs" chapter, "When he disputes he acts wickedly," hadith no. 2459, from Bishr bin Khalid, and Muslim in "Faith," chapter "Explanation of the characteristics of the hypocrite," hadith no. 58, from the hadith of Sulayman Amash, by the same chain.
