The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out when the sun had passed its zenith and led them in the Dhuhr prayer.
أخبرنا كثير بن عبيد قال حدثنا محمد بن حرب عن الزبيدي عن الزهري قال
أن رسول الله ﷺ خرج حين زاغت الشمس فصلى بهم صلاة الظهر
Bukhari, no. 540, transmitted it. See the previous hadith. Muslim also transmitted it, in the Virtues, chapter on honoring him and refraining from excessive questioning of him... etc., no. 136/2359, from the hadith of Zuhri, at length. It is also in Kubra, no. 1484.
