The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The hand of the thief is cut off for a quarter of a dinar."
أخبرنا محمد بن حاتم قال أنبأنا حبان بن موسى قال حدثنا عبد الله عن يونس عن الزهري قال قالت عمرة
عن رسول الله ﷺ تقطع يد السارق في ربع دينار
Bukhari transmitted it in "Hudud," the chapter on Allah's statement, "As for the thief, male or female, cut off their hands", hadith 6789, and Muslim in "Hudud," the chapter on the punishment for theft and its minimum threshold, hadith 1684, from the hadith of Zuhri through the same chain. It is also found in Al-Kubra, hadith 7403.
