The Messenger of Allah ﷺ cut off the hand of a thief for stealing a shield worth three dirhams.Abu Abdul-Rahman said, "This is the correct version."
أخبرنا يونس بن عبد الأعلى قال حدثنا ابن وهب قال حدثنا حنظلة أن نافعا حدثهم أن
قطع رسول الله ﷺ في مجن ثمنه ثلاثة دراهم قال أبو عبد الرحمن هذا الصواب
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Hudud, chapter on the punishment for theft and its minimum threshold, hadith no. 6/1686, from the hadith of Ibn Wahb, from Hanzala bin Abu Sufyan, with the same wording. It is also found in Kubra, hadith no. 7394.
