The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled regarding the mukatab that his blood-money is paid according to the portion of his contract he has paid off, at the rate of a free man's blood-money, and the remainder at the rate of a slave's blood-money.

قضى رسول الله ﷺ في المكاتب يودى بقدر ما أدى من مكاتبته دية الحر وما بقي دية العبد
