A man killed another during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the Prophet ﷺ set his blood-money at twelve thousand. He mentioned the verse "unless Allah and His Messenger enriched them out of His bounty" [Tawbah 9:74] in reference to their accepting the blood-money. The wording is from Abu Dawud.
أخبرنا محمد بن المثنى عن معاذ بن هانئ قال حدثني محمد بن مسلم قال حدثنا عمرو بن دينار ح و أخبرنا أبو داود قال حدثنا معاذ بن هانئ قال حدثنا محمد بن مسلم عن عمرو بن دينار عن عكرمة
قتل رجل رجلا على عهد رسول الله ﷺ فجعل النبي ﷺ ديته اثني عشر ألفا وذكر قوله {إلا أن أغناهم الله ورسوله من فضله} في أخذهم الدية واللفظ لأبي داود
[Its chain is hasan] Tirmidhi narrated it, no. 1388 (see the previous hadith), from the hadith of Muaz bin Hani, and it is in Kubra, nos. 7007 and 7006, where he said, "Muhammad bin Muslim is not strong, and the correct view is that it is mursal." As for Ibn Maymun, he is not strong, while Muhammad bin Muslim is truthful, hasan in hadith, and among the narrators of Muslim and others.
