A man bit another man's hand. The man being bitten pulled his hand away, causing the biter's front tooth, or his front teeth, to fall out. The biter then sought redress from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "What do you want me to do? Do you want me to order him to leave his hand in your mouth so you can chew on it like a stallion? If you wish, hand him your hand so he can chew on it, then pull it away."
أخبرنا أحمد بن عثمان أبو الجوزاء قال أنبأنا قريش بن أنس عن ابن عون عن ابن سيرين
أن رجلا عض يد رجل فانتزع يده فسقطت ثنيته أو قال ثناياه فاستعدى عليه رسول الله ﷺ فقال له رسول الله ﷺ ما تأمرني تأمرني أن آمره أن يدع يده في فيك تقضمها كما يقضم الفحل إن شئت فادفع إليه يدك حتى يقضمها ثم انتزعها إن شئت
Muslim narrated it in the chapter on Qasamah, the chapter on one who attacks a person's life or limb, when the one attacked repels him, etc., hadith no. 21/1673, from Ahmad bin Uthman Nawfali, with this wording, and it is also in Al-Kubra, hadith no. 6960.
