A man brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ the killer of his relative.The Prophet ﷺ said, "Pardon him."But the man refused.The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then take the blood-money."He refused again.The Prophet ﷺ said, "Go and kill him, for you will be just like him."So the man set off, and someone caught up with him and said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Kill him, for you will be just like him.'" So he let him go.The man then passed by me dragging his rope behind him.
أخبرنا عيسى بن يونس قال حدثنا ضمرة عن عبد الله بن شوذب عن ثابت البناني
أن رجلا أتى بقاتل وليه رسول الله ﷺ فقال النبي ﷺ اعف عنه فأبى فقال خذ الدية فأبى قال اذهب فاقتله فإنك مثله فذهب فلحق الرجل فقيل له إن رسول الله ﷺ قال اقتله فإنك مثله فخلى سبيله فمر بي الرجل وهو يجر نسعته
