The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the sale of one animal for another on deferred terms.
أخبرنا عمرو بن علي قال حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد ويزيد بن زريع وخالد بن الحارث قالوا حدثنا شعبة و أخبرني أحمد بن فضالة بن إبراهيم قال حدثنا عبيد الله بن موسى قال حدثنا الحسن بن صالح عن ابن أبي عروبة عن قتادة عن الحسن
أن رسول الله ﷺ نهى عن بيع الحيوان بالحيوان نسيئة
[Sahih] Reported by Ibn Majah, Tijarat, chapter on trading livestock for livestock on deferred terms, no. 2270, from the hadith of Saeed bin Abu Aruba via this route, and it is also in Kubra, nos. 6214, 6213. Tirmidhi said, and Ibn Jarud graded it sahih, no. 611, and it has corroborating narrations in Ibn Hibban, no. 1237, hasan sahih, no. 1113, and elsewhere.
