Anas reported that he walked to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ carrying barley bread and rancid fat. He said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had pledged a coat of armor of his with a Jew in Madinah and taken from him some barley for his family.
أخبرنا إسمعيل بن مسعود قال حدثنا خالد قال حدثنا هشام قال حدثنا قتادة
أنه مشى إلى رسول الله ﷺ بخبز شعير وإهالة سنخة قال ولقد رهن درعا له عند يهودي بالمدينة وأخذ منه شعيرا لأهله
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Sales, in the chapter on the Prophet's buying on credit, hadith no. 2069, from the hadith of Hisham Dastawai through the same chain, and it is also found in al-Kubra, hadith no. 6203.
