The Messenger of Allah ﷺ bought food from a Jew on credit and pledged his armor as security.
أخبرني محمد بن آدم عن حفص بن غياث عن الأعمش عن إبراهيم عن الأسود
اشترى رسول الله ﷺ من يهودي طعاما إلى أجل ورهنه درعه
Bukhari narrated it in "Sales," chapter "Buying food on credit," no. 2200, and Muslim in "Sharecropping," chapter "Pledging collateral and its permissibility both at home and while traveling," no. 1603/166, from the hadith of Hafs bin Ghiyath through this route. It is also found in Al-Kubra, no. 6202.
