They used to buy food in bulk at the upper part of the market during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade them from selling it on the spot until they had transported it.
أخبرنا عبيد الله بن سعيد قال حدثنا يحيى عن عبيد الله قال أخبرني نافع
أنهم كانوا يبتاعون على عهد رسول الله ﷺ في أعلى السوق جزافا فنهاهم رسول الله ﷺ أن يبيعوه في مكانه حتى ينقلوه
