The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not sell fruit until its ripeness becomes evident, and do not buy fresh fruit in exchange for dried dates."Ibn Shihab said, Salim bin Abdullah narrated to me from his father that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade exactly the same thing.
أخبرني يونس بن عبد الأعلى والحارث بن مسكين قراءة عليه وأنا أسمع عن ابن وهب أخبرني يونس عن ابن شهاب قال حدثني سعيد وأبو سلمة أن
قال رسول الله ﷺ لا تبيعوا الثمر حتى يبدو صلاحه ولا تبتاعوا الثمر بالتمر قال ابن شهاب حدثني سالم بن عبد الله عن أبيه أن رسول الله ﷺ نهى عن مثله سواء
Muslim narrated it in his Sahih, in the Book of Sales, in the chapter on the prohibition of selling fresh dates for dried dates except in the case of araya, hadith no. 58/1538, from the hadith of Ibn Wahb through this same chain, and it is also found in Sunan al-Kubra, hadith no. 6112.Bukhari also narrated it in his Sahih, in the Book of Sales, in the chapter on selling fruits before their ripeness becomes evident and so on, hadith no. 2199, from the hadith of Ibn Shihab Zuhri through this same chain, but as a suspended narration.
