The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the sale of fruit until its ripeness becomes apparent.
أخبرنا قتيبة بن سعيد قال حدثنا سفيان عن الزهري
أن رسول الله ﷺ نهى عن بيع الثمر حتى يبدو صلاحه
Etc., h: 57/1534, from the takhrij: Muslim narrated it in the Book of Sales, chapter on the prohibition of selling fresh dates for dried dates, the hadith of Sufyan bin Uyayna, from him. It is also in Kubra, h: 6111.
