He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Beware of swearing oaths frequently in selling, for it promotes the sale but then erases its blessing."
أخبرني هارون بن عبد الله قال حدثنا أبو أسامة قال أخبرني الوليد يعني ابن كثير عن معبد بن كعب بن مالك
أنه سمع رسول الله ﷺ يقول إياكم وكثرة الحلف في البيع فإنه ينفق ثم يمحق
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Musaqat, Chapter on the prohibition of swearing oaths in trade, hadith no. 1607, from the hadith of Abu Usama Hammad bin Usama, with this same chain, and it is also found in Al-Kubra, hadith no. 6053.
