Shareed reported,
I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever kills a sparrow for no purpose, it will cry out to Allah 
on the Day of Resurrection, saying, 'My Lord, so-and-so killed me for no reason and did not kill me for any benefit.'"

الشريد يقول
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول من قتل عصفورا عبثا عج إلى الله عز وجل يوم القيامة يقول يا رب إن فلانا قتلني عبثا ولم يقتلني لمنفعة
Hasan li-ghayrihi. Tabarani reported it in al-Kabir, 7/317, no. 7245, from the hadith of Abdul-Wahid bin Wasil, through him. It is also found in al-Kubra, no. 4535, and in Musnad Ahmad, 4/389. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 1071. It has a daif corroborating narration in Mushkil Athar, 1/372.Salih bin Dinar was declared trustworthy by Ibn Hibban, and Munziri indicated that his hadith should be graded hasan.
