Ayesha reported,

Someone asked Aisha, "Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbid eating the meat of sacrificial animals after three days?"She replied, "Yes. The people had been suffering hardship, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wished that the wealthy might feed the poor." Then she added, "I have seen the family of Muhammad ﷺ eating from the shank of a sacrificial animal even fifteen days later."I asked, "How could that be?"She laughed and said, "The family of Muhammad ﷺ never ate their fill of seasoned bread for three consecutive days until he met Allah ."

أكان رسول الله ﷺ ينهى عن لحوم الأضاحي بعد ثلاث قالت نعم أصاب الناس شدة فأحب رسول الله ﷺ أن يطعم الغني الفقير ثم قال لقد رأيت آل محمد ﷺ يأكلون الكراع بعد خمس عشرة قلت مم ذاك فضحكت فقالت ما شبع آل محمد ﷺ من خبز مأدوم ثلاثة أيام حتى لحق بالله عز وجل
