Abu Saeed Khudri returned from a journey, and his family brought him some meat from the sacrificial animals. He said, "I will not eat it until I ask about it."So he went to his maternal brother Qatada bin Numan, who had been a participant at Badr, and asked him about it. Qatada replied, "Something new has occurred after you left, abrogating the previous prohibition against eating sacrificial meat after three days."
أخبرنا عيسى بن حماد زغبة قال أنبأنا الليث عن يحيى بن سعيد عن القاسم بن محمد عن ابن خباب هو
أن أبا سعيد الخدري قدم من سفر فقدم إليه أهله لحما من لحوم الأضاحي فقال ما أنا بآكله حتى أسأل فانطلق إلى أخيه لأمه قتادة بن النعمان وكان بدريا فسأله عن ذلك فقال إنه قد حدث بعدك أمر نقضا لما كانوا نهوا عنه من أكل لحوم الأضاحي بعد ثلاثة أيام
