Sourcing. Its chain is daif. Abu Dawud narrated it in the book of Sacrifices, in the chapter on slaughtering an animal that has fallen, hadith 2825, Ibn Majah narrated it, hadith 3184, and Tirmidhi narrated it, hadith 1481, all from the hadith of Hammad bin Salama with this wording. Tirmidhi said it is unique. It is also found in Kubra, hadith 4497.Abu Ushara's hadith is hasan, but Bukhari said, "There is doubt concerning his hadith, his name, and whether he actually heard from his father." It has a daif corroborating narration in Haythami's Majma al-Zawaid (4/34).
