The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whatever causes blood to flow and over which the name of Allah has been mentioned, you may eat, except what is slaughtered with a tooth or a nail."
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Sacrifices, chapter on the permissibility of slaughtering with anything that causes blood to flow except teeth and other bones, hadith 1968, through the hadith of Sufyan bin Uyayna. Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Partnership, chapter on the division of sheep, hadith 2488, through the hadith of Abu Umar Saeed bin Masruq, with the same wording. It is also found in Kubra, hadith 4492.
