A man from the Ansar had a she-camel that used to graze in the area facing Uhud. He came upon her and slaughtered her with a stake.I asked Zayd, "Was the stake made of wood or iron?"He replied, "No, it was wood."The man came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked him about it, and he instructed him to eat from it.

[Its chain of transmission is sahih] Ibn Jarud narrated it in al-Muntaqa, no. 896, from the hadith of Habban bin Hilal, with this wording, and it is also found in al-Kubra, no. 4492. It has another route in Abu Dawud, no. 2823, and elsewhere, and its chain is sahih.
