We went on seven military expeditions with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and we used to eat Jarad.
أخبرنا حميد بن مسعدة عن سفيان وهو ابن حبيب عن شعبة عن أبي يعفور سمع
غزونا مع رسول الله ﷺ سبع غزوات فكنا نأكل الجراد
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Slaughtered Animals and Game, Chapter on Eating Locusts, no. 5495, from the hadith of Shubah. Muslim narrated it in the Book of Game and Slaughtered Animals, Chapter on the Permissibility of Locusts, no. 1952, from the hadith of Abu Yafur Abdi and Qadan, through him. It is also in al-Kubra, no. 4868.
