The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, while on the pulpit, was asked about the lizard. He replied, "I do not eat it, nor do I forbid it."
أخبرنا قتيبة قال حدثنا مالك عن عبد الله بن دينار
أن رسول الله ﷺ وهو على المنبر سئل عن الضب فقال لا آكله ولا أحرمه
Its isnad is sahih. Tirmidhi narrated it in the chapter on food, in the section on eating the mastigure lizard, hadith no. 1790, from Qutayba with this wording, and he said, hasan sahih. It is also in Muwatta (Yahya), 2/968, and in Kubra, hadith no. 4826.
