We startled a rabbit at Marr az-Zahran. I caught it and brought it to Abu Talha, who slaughtered it and sent me with its thighs and hindquarters to the Prophet ﷺ, and he accepted it.
أخبرنا إسمعيل بن مسعود قال حدثنا خالد عن شعبة عن هشام وهو ابن زيد قال سمعت
أنفجنا أرنبا بمر الظهران فأخذتها فجئت بها إلى أبي طلحة فذبحها فبعثني بفخذيها ووركيها إلى النبي ﷺ فقبله
Bukhari reported it in the chapter on gifts, section on accepting a gift of game caught by hunting, hadith no. 2572, and Muslim reported it in the chapter on hunting and slaughtered animals, section on the permissibility of hare, hadith no. 1953, from the hadith of Shubah, through this route. It is also found in Kubra, hadith no. 4824.
