Samura reported,
May Allah fight Samura. Did he not know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "May Allah fight the Jews. Fats were forbidden to them, yet they rendered them down."Sufyan said, meaning they melted them.

Reported by Muslim, hadith no. 1582, from Ishaq bin Ibrahim (that is, Ibn Rahawayh), see the previous hadith, and by Bukhari, Book of Sales, Chapter, "The fat of a dead animal must not be rendered nor may its grease be sold," hadith no. 2223, from the hadith of Sufyan bin Uyayna with the same wording. It is also found in al-Kubra, hadith no. 4583.
