The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "For a boy, two sheep are to be sacrificed, and for a girl, one sheep. It does not matter whether they are male or female."
أخبرنا عمرو بن علي قال حدثنا يحيى قال حدثنا ابن جريج قال حدثني عبيد الله بن أبي يزيد عن سباع بن ثابت
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال عن الغلام شاتان وعن الجارية شاة لا يضركم ذكرانا كن أم إناثا
[Its chain is hasan]. See the previous hadith, and it is in Al-Kubra, no. 4544. Tirmidhi also narrated it, no. 1516, from the hadith of Ibn Jurayj, with the same wording, and he said, hasan sahih.
