A man spoke harshly to Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, so I said, "Shall I kill him?"He rebuked me sharply and said, "This is not for anyone after the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."
أخبرنا عمرو بن علي قال حدثنا معاذ بن معاذ قال حدثنا شعبة عن توبة العنبري عن عبد الله بن قدامة بن عنزة
أغلظ رجل لأبي بكر الصديق فقلت أقتله فانتهرني وقال ليس هذا لأحد بعد رسول الله ﷺ
[Its chain of transmission is hasan]. It is found in Sunan al-Kubra, hadith: 3534, and Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Hudud, chapter on the ruling regarding one who insults the Prophet ﷺ, hadith: 4363, through another route from Abu Barza Aslami with the same content.
