Ibn Jurayj reported,

Reading. He said, I asked Ata about a slave whom I hire out for one year in exchange for his food, and for another year for such-and-such.Ata replied, "There is no harm in that, and your stipulation is sufficient at the time you hire him out for a number of days, or if you hired him out when part of the year had already passed."He said, "You will not hold me to account for what has already passed."
