The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever is given something as a lifetime grant, it belongs to him in his life and after his death."
أخبرنا عمرو بن علي قال حدثنا أبو عاصم قال حدثنا ابن جريج قال أخبرني أبو الزبير أنه سمع
قال رسول الله ﷺ من أعمر شيئا فهو له حياته ومماته
Muslim reported it in the Book of Gifts, Chapter on Umra (life-tenancy gifts), no. 1625/28, from the hadith of Ibn Jurayj, with this same wording, and it is also found in Kubra, no. 6567.
