The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No one may take back what he has given as a gift, except a father from his child. The one who takes back his gift is like the one who returns to his vomit."
[Sahih]. Ibn Majah narrated it in the chapter "On one who gives a gift to his child and then takes it back" from "Gifts," hadith 2378, from the hadith of Saeed bin Abu Aruba, narrated in this way. Abdul-Warith also narrated it, from Amir, in this way, as did Bayhaqi (6/179) and Abdul-Ala with Ibn Majah, and it is also found in Al-Kubra, hadith 6516.Note, Ibrahim here is Ibn Tahman.
